Robotic Process Automation is one of the latest trends in tech. Not only does it save time, but it also can save money for companies that implement it well.
In a recent episode of “Tech-Driven Business” (listen below), Mustansir Saifuddin continues the conversation with David C. Williams of AT&T, who leads one of the largest Robotic Process Automations initiatives for AT&T. Now covering 70 million transactions daily with a 3000% ROI, David understands what it takes for an RPA initiative to be successful.
David starts from the beginning. For RPA to be successful, think about 5G. When 5G technology was first introduced, it took some time for it to become the powerful force it is today. RPA is no different; it takes time to mature. It can be difficult for organizations to see the rewards of the technology; be patient.
More importantly, companies need to think about the power of sustainability. It may be easy to start a bot, but think about how you will maintain and optimize it. Who will play that role on your team? David has his teams of superheroes who do just that. This long-term vision and planning allow for collaboration tools and RPA to leverage the best from each solution.
At Innovative Solution Partners, our mission is to connect the dots between people, operations, and technology because it takes more than technology to make a project successful. David highlights this so well. As he says, his belief that “culture trumps strategy” has allowed for him to build a team that always is innovating and collaborating to do what is best. He understands that Corporate America can be a lot, but points out that we are humans first. He applies this concept with how he builds his team.
As David shares:
“No matter how brilliant the members are, it’s the bond/trust/commitment BETWEEN them is where the true power & advantage is found. 3,000% ROI is great, until you are reaching for 10,000%. You don’t get there alone, or with homogenous thinking. Diversity of thought only comes from diverse perspectives, which only come from diverse walks of life (professionally/personally).
“Post-pandemic, every firm knows the stakes are too great to waste any time, energy, or — Heaven forbid — waste any human talent/capital. Find your north star and follow it with great tech at your fingertips. When the results turn exponential… wash, rinse, repeat.”
It may be daunting to think about implementing projects with 3000% ROI. David’s focus on the big picture, however, allows for him to keep bringing projects successfully to fruition.
